The Junk Food Diet
I am a junk food junkie. but because i’m doing tennis, i’d like to eat healthier foods to improve my game. Any suggestions to substitute healthier alternatives to junk food but will allow me to still have the satisfaction as if i were eating junk food?
Yes, you will like this site: http://www.yummydietfood.com. It is different than hungry-girl in that the suggestions are healthy (no hydrogenated oils, no artificial sweeteners, no high fructose corn syrup, and no sugar alcohols). You’ll find that there are tons of great alternatives to junk food available at your local health food stores, trader joe’s and whole foods. Best of luck.
Like, if I eat 1200 calories consisting of healthy and junk food and burn 300 calories with exercise daily, will I still lose weight?
A couple of things…
- you burn calories just by breathing and your heart beating and digesting the food
- if you exercise daily, that might not be enough calories
- junk foods have little nutritional value (thus the term, empty calories)
- what goes in must be burned out is a fallacy, i.e. you can pee out sugars/proteins that are in the body, so it’s possible to rid yourself of unused calories without burning them
- eating junk foods will cause frequent blood sugar swings that will tax your pancreas and could possibly lead to problems later in life (like diabetes)
- even with vitamin supplements, you’d probably be lacking in some basic things your body needs, like protein, fat, heavier carbohydrates, essential electrolytes, the list goes on
You didn’t say how big you are, so the jury is out, but most people agree 2000 calories a day for an adult male that gets a small amount of exercise is pretty normal to maintain weight. But, you have to think, if a large part of that is junk food (which it would be, not by volume, but by caloric percentage), then you aren’t even coming close to maintaining healthy nutrition. Plus, you are hurting your teeth as well.
I mean junk food like burgers, fries, and I also said slowly because I’m not used to eating healthy.
Just take it one day at a time! Tell yourself that this junk food is not healthy, and remind yourself of all the animals who are tortured daily for their flesh. It’s all about going one meal at a time. When you wake up in the morning, instead of going for that pop-tart, pick something healthy, like a granola bar, cereal with soy milk, or vegan pancakes (email me for a very easy and fun recipe). When you go for lunch, instead of thinking “fast food” think “last food” (that will keep your body lasting), such as fake meat, fruit, vegetables, rice, beans, pb&j sandwich, pb sandwich, nuts, tofurkey sandwich, or a granola bar if you’re in a hurry. And when you’re having dinner, remember that you’re doing it a meal at a time and enjoy a delicious vegetable soup, or vegetable rice. Whatever strikes you as delicious.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
The best diet meals are those that allow good selection of nutritious and low fat foods. Studies have shown that the best way to lose weight is not to starve yourself. Eat 25% less calories than normal and you will lose weight. After several months your weight loss may plateau and you may need to decrease total calories in your diet meal plan by another 10% to keep losing weight.
Design your meal plan around foods that you enjoy but keep the total calories to a minimum. The average women meal plan should consist of 1200 to 1400 calories per day. This allows for good nutrition without feeling hungry all the time.
Most men can lose 2 or more pounds per week on a meal plan between 1500 and 1800 calories per day. Below is a diet that we think is easy to follow and consist of 3 main meals with 2 snacks.

I vowed not to eat any junk food or drink any soda for two months. As a 14 year old female, how many health benefits will result from me substituting my regular intake of junk food for fruits and other healthy foods? What are they? Also, I play volleyball from 3 to 5:15 everyday and am pretty active. I am also working on developing my abs in two months. How much will a diet with no junk food help?
This diet will probably work well. But if your going without sugared sodas, don’t drink diet. They will kill you faster than regular sodas will make you overweight! Drink cranberry juice or apple juice or basically any other natural juice. Cranberry juice makes you pee a lot, but its really good for you. And the Weight Watchers diet helped a lot for me. You basically write down what you eat throughout the day and it helps you control your portion sizes. I lost about 10-15 pounds on WW.
currently i am doing something for school, in health class. i decided to give up junk food for a whole week. what kind of foods can i eat that are healthy?
GOOD PROJECT. you will improve your health and increase your life span. This is a good healthy diet for maintaining health and good weight.
·It is important to maintain a good diet so you don’t compromise your health. Damage done because of lack of nutrition is not worth a nice body. Some diet damage cannot be fixed.
·
·When you deprive your brain, the brain will take other body cells to convert to the elements that it needs. And the cells it takes are BRAIN cells. OOPS. I don’t want to lose brain cells to have thin legs. But I would like to have both.
Also, a quick weight loss is usually a water loss and that loss will come back ASAP. You cannot loose FAT more than 2 to 3 pounds a week. Any more than that and you are loosing water and muscle mass (not good)
AND DON’T GO ON A DIET. DECIDE TO MAKE A LIFE CHANGE TO A HEALTHY LIFE STYLE.
1) fruits and veggies, all you want, organic, raw, vine-ripe if possible. Steamed is OK, sautéed is OK even canned or frozen is OK, but lots of them.
EXERCISE- and be sure to refresh your body with water and fresh fruit
2) limited or no meat.
3) nothing fried
4) no FAST FOOD- is junk, no nutrition, empty calories
5) NO PROCESSED FOOD. if you can’t pronounce it don’t eat it.
6) nothing white, salt, sugar, mayo, milk, (or at least in moderation.
7) NO DAIRY-dairy is great for baby cows, your body does not even digest it properly. check out http://www.notmilk.com
9) NO PROTEIN SUPPLEMENTS. Muscle is made from water, replace the water. You get enough protein from the food you eat, You get more protein from spinach than the supplements you take and your body does not get toxic on food protein the way it will with supplements. Supplements can really tax you liver.
10) Good supplement would be Omega 3, and Juice Plus+
http://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/pages/Home….
11) NO CARBONATED DRINKS, or at least limited. They actually dissolve the calcium in your bones.
12) Calories in calories out.
AND DON’T GO NUTS, MODERATION.
I want to cut all junk food from my diet for various reasons. I want to be extremely healthy in all aspects. I want my hair, skin, and body to look amazing from an all natural diet. My family buys tons of junk food though. How do I avoid eating it?
How much non-junk food is in the kitchen?
Well ive been gaining alot of weight recently and i was wondering if you guys Had any advise for exercises or I was also wondering How can i cut junk food from my diet easily?
I just answered like 2 questions on how to stay away from junk food…
tell someone in your house to hide all the fat food and don’t buy it =D
I can’t really throw out all junk foods, and go on just plain food diets, because my parents make dinner every day and the only option is some vegetables.
I started dieting a couple of weeks back and last thursday i ate healthy , exercised ,and drank 2 liters of water. so later on that night i had chinese food , which i knew was bad for me, and still managed to lose the 2 pounds for the week when i weighed myself on saturday. Is there a way that i could eat junk and still lose 2 pounds a week ? Maybe doing it monthly ? Also , how should i go about the next days after eating it ?
If you monitor what you eat and when you eat and your calorie intake, you should be able to add some occasional “junk” to your diet. That’s why all these 100-calorie packs are becoming so popular now. Just don’t overdo it!
